If there is any type of NFT collection we see more of these days, it’s those released by sports teams. From soccer clubs to the U.S Baseball league, everyone seems to be getting involved.
The latest sports entity to get in on the NFT action is the Sacramento Kings, an American basketball team. The team recently announced it has released its second NFT collection.
Details About the Collection
This second NFT collection, called Laidback Lions, was developed by a web3 company called Ankr. The NFTs will feature 8 images of the team’s mascot Slamson. In total, 79 NFTs will be made available for sale at $500 each and one rare Gold NFT will be up for auction, with bids starting at $5,000. These NFTs are due to begin minting on August 31, 2022, on Magic Eden.
This is the second NFT offering coming from the team and follows up on its December 2021 Laidback Lion launch. According to the management of the Lions, the first saw a positive response which led them to release a follow-up.
“Based on the tremendous response to the first release of the Laidback Lions, we are thrilled to expand our collection of NFTs and welcome new owners to The Jungle community,” said Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé.
These new NFTs will offer real-life benefits to their holders, including an invitation to a pre-game event with Chairman Vivek Ranadivé, tickets to a game, and other member-only events.
